Top Baby Supplies You Need For Your Newborn

Are you pregnant and trying to decide what to get for the arrival of your baby? Is your head spinning with the amount of baby products available? Are you wondering how you are going to afford everything?

There are so many baby products available, what do you really need? If you are wondering how you are going to pay for everything, make sure you only get the necessities.

What does your baby really need? Here are the top 5 things you baby really needs:

A place to sleep – it can be a crib, a bassinet, a cradle, or your bed. Your baby needs a safe place to sleep with a firm mattress. It should be free of any pillows, toys, and thick comforters. The mattress should be flush against the crib so that there are no spaces for the baby to slip into.

A car seat – you must have one before you even leave the hospital. You cannot travel anywhere without your baby’s car seat. This is one of the items that you want to purchase new. There are expiration dates on infant car seats and you want to make sure that there have not been any recalls or defects on your car seat.

Clothes – sleepers and diaper shirts are the easiest for the first few months. Of course there are fun outfits that you can get depending on if you are having a boy or a girl.

Toiletries – Diapers (cloth or disposable), wipes, baby shampoo, and diaper rash cream (just in case). These are my essentials and there is really no need to have to use anything else. I like to have the diaper rash cream on hand just in case, you never know when a rash will break out. And you don’t want your baby’s bottom suffering needlessly.

Love – There is no point in having the latest toys and gadgets, baby Einstein videos, classical music playing if the baby is not getting any love. This means lots of cuddling and one on one time.

I think parents get too worked up on having the best of everything for the baby so that they can raise the next doctor or Einstein. If you read, play, and sing with your baby, that is really the only thing she needs to give her a good head start.

This way you won’t need to waste money on the latest toy that beeps and sings the alphabet every time you touch it. The baby is not going to know that it didn’t have the latest toy or it missed out on that really expensive gadget. All the baby needs is you, and your love.
